With a total investment of US$150 million, TE Connectivity's Nantong manufacturing base for its automotive business unit has officially commenced operations.
June 15, 2026, TE Connectivity ("TE"), a global industrial technology company specializing in connectivity and sensing, announced the official commencement of operations at its new advanced manufacturing base in Chongchuan District, Nantong City (hereinafter referred to as "TE Automotive Nantong Base"). With a total investment of US$150 million, this base represents another core manufacturing hub in TE's China footprint, further deepening the company's localization strategy and enhancing its ability to serve China's new energy vehicle and intelligent connected vehicle industries.
The Nantong base, with a total construction area of approximately 39,900 square meters, has created thousands of high-quality jobs for the local community. It primarily manufactures core products such as high-voltage connectors for new energy vehicles and high-speed, high-frequency data connectors for automobiles. Notably, the Nantong base is TE's only production base in China integrating floating cameras for driver assistance systems and automotive Type-C data cables. To realize the production of these cutting-edge products, the Nantong base integrates end-to-end capabilities from injection molding and equipment processing to full-process assembly. Simultaneously, it fully aligns with TE's mature Manufacturing Execution System (MES), introducing advanced technologies such as intelligent logistics, intelligent traceability, and automated error prevention.
In terms of sustainable development, the Nantong base is built to "star-rated energy-saving factory" standards, equipped with high-efficiency photovoltaic and rainwater harvesting systems. Furthermore, it has largely achieved the recycling and reuse of injection molding raw materials during the production process, achieving clean production and efficient resource utilization.
This comprehensive layout in engineering technology, advanced manufacturing, and green low-carbon technologies will significantly enhance TE's automotive division's advanced manufacturing level and supply capabilities in China, better serving the development needs of China's new energy vehicle and intelligent connected vehicle industries.
With the official commencement of production at the Nantong plant, TE Automotive's strategic layout in China has been further improved. In the future, TE Automotive will continue to uphold the philosophy of "rooted in the local market, continuous investment, in-depth innovation, and mutual benefit," leveraging its world-class manufacturing capabilities and engineering strength to deeply participate in and promote the intelligent electrification transformation of the automotive industry in China and globally.
